Welcome to the coolest basement in town!
Our focus is on serving handcrafted food and cocktails, a large variety of craft beers and a memorable experience every time.
Since our opening in 2007, our focus has been on small plates that pair well with wines, cocktails and beers. While our initial menu focused on Mediterranean tapas, throughout the years we have evolved and expanded to include a variety of foods from all different regions, with our own unique touches on each dish. With our focus on fresh local ingredients, we work with several local farms to curate a delicious selection of fresh seasonal dishes. Our offerings include a small plates menu as well as several sharable options. We also are happy to offer our guests the Pub menu from upstairs which includes sandwiches, soups, salads and burgers.

Our Story
Despite opening in 2007, the restaurant as we know it today had it's true emergence in 2012 when current owner, Michael Proske took the reins. The introduction of many local craft beers and the refresh of the menu was exactly what was needed for a complete revitalization. With the Proske family working together, Tapastre has been a staple in the downtown Somerville community for many years becoming a local favorite for excellent cocktails and a delicious bite.
